Mission

The mission of Public Health Research Laboratories (PHRL) is to promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, disability, and promoting healthy lifestyles. This is achieved by:

• Providing appropriate technical assistance and necessary aid in emergencies, upon the request or acceptance of governments and other health organizations

• Assisting domestic and international health organizations with support through statistical and epidemiologic services in the prevention and control of endemic, epidemic, and other diseases

• Training health workers in surveillance, epidemiology, applied public health, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and prevention effectiveness

• Providing health education at the individual, group, and community level

PHRL is an independent 501(c)(3), tax exempt, charitable organization.
